Peace lilies are one of several houseplants that reduce levels of carbon dioxide by converting it into oxygen, thereby improving the air quality in a room. Although they're fairly easy to maintain, there are some tips that can help you better care for them.
This is a picture of one of mine that I repotted today. When my mama passed a little over two years ago, it was in a basket of assorted plants at her funeral. Of course, it was much fuller and prettier than it is now. My goal is to return it to its original condition.
Below are a couple of photos of how it looked before I repotted it. Although the one on the left has more foliage than it does now, the leaves were not healthy and had to be removed. Did you know that brown or wilted leaves need to be pruned to keep the plant from wasting energy on the dying parts? Also, your scissors or pruning shears should be clean so as not to infect the plant. These are just a few things I was not aware of until I did my research and came across a very helpful article on wikiHow about how to care for these beautiful plants.

In the photo on the right, you will notice how skinny and frail the plant was (especially at the base) before I pruned it. Even though it's still not up to par, I hope that with some much-needed TLC over the next several months, it will be resurrected back to the healthy, vibrant, thriving plant it used to be. I'll keep you updated.
And as always, this is from my heart to yours!
