Caregiving

Hello, friends! This beautiful, sweet lady here is my mama. She passed a year and a half ago. For several years, my siblings and I were her primary caregivers. To help care for her, my "Rock" and the one who helped give me life, was indeed an honor and a privilege. However, it was hard. There were good days and bad days, especially as she got sicker and my family had to finally accept the inevitable.
Are you a caregiver for a family member, beloved friend, or someone else? If so, you know the ups and downs and the joys and pains associated with it. One thing I did not think about when caring for Mama was that God would allow me to one day help someone else through my own personal experience. And even though it's bittersweet, I now am part of a huge family who helps to care for my aging in-laws.
Did you know that November is National Family Caregivers Month? I was not aware of it until today. For weeks now, I've been trying to come up with a topic to consider here on my blog. After days and days of not being able to concentrate, I prayed and asked God to help me find something encouraging that I can share. As I started searching the Internet for a topic, caregiving came to my mind, and that is when I discovered it. Yes, I know it's a bittersweet subject, but it is a reality for so many people who need our support, encouragement, and prayers.
So this post is dedicated to caregivers all over the world. Please feel free to share your personal thoughts, concerns, and experiences. And always remember, even though you may feel like it at times, you are not alone.
As always, this is from my heart to yours!
Maxine
